On the occasion of National Science Day 2017 celebrations, several programmes were organized under the focal theme, "Science and Technology for Specially Abled Persons". On 02.03.2017, at Ashray Akruti (a voluntary organisation working for Ear and Hearing care and persons with disabilities), Hyderabad, an exhibition was arranged on the activities of AMD  and   Energy Scenario in India and World where more than100 children participated. A special lecture was delivered by Shri M.B. Verma, Additional Director (Op-II) on the topic "Energy Resources vis-a vis Nuclear Energy in India". A quiz on general science was conducted.
        
      On 03.03.2017, at Deonar school for Blind, Hyderabad, a lecture on “Radioactivity, Health and Society”, science quiz completion for blind children and exhibition on AMD activities were organized.  AMD infosheet was converted into ‘BRAIL’ and 50 copies were presented to the school library. On 06.03.207, a science exhibition was inaugurated by Shri L.K.Nanda, Director AMD in the office premises. More than 100 specially abled children visited the science exhibition. Popular Science Lecture was delivered by Dr. P.C. Jain, Head of Structures Department and Deputy Technology Director, Defense Research and Development Laboratory, Hyderabad, on “Multi dimensions of Science & Technology for Societal Growth".  The National Science Day Celebrations culminated with Director AMD giving away the prizes to the students.
