Dr. D K Sinha, Scientific Officer H+, Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research (AMD), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India today, the 1st of January, 2020 assumed the charge of Director, AMD. Dr. Sinha was Additional Director (OP-I) in the same Directorate.

Dr. Sinha, after obtaining M.Tech in applied Geology from University of Saugar, Madhya Pradesh joined AMD in 1984. He was awarded Ph.D. degree in Geology by Nagpur University in 1993.  He has vast experience in exploration of atomic minerals spanning over 35 years in different geological domains of Eastern, Western and Central parts of India.  His skillful exploration strategy resulted in large scale augmentation of atomic minerals in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand.

Dr. Sinha has published many research articles in National / International journals, and he has more than 100 citations. He is a life member of various National/International societies. He has widely traversed the country to gain experience in Geo-exploration.  His exposure to international events like PDAC in Canada and URAM in IAEA, Austria provided impetus to him to shoulder the responsibilities as Director, AMD.
