75th Independence Day celebrations in AMD

 

AMD celebrated the 75th Independence Day on 15.08.2021 in a solemn function organized in accordance with the prevailing protocols and guidelines received from Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

Dr. D.K. Sinha, Director, AMD unfurled the National Flag, which was followed by the rendering of National Anthem. Thereafter, Director, AMD inspected the “Guard of Honour” by the Security Section, AMD Headquarters, Hyderabad and Special Protection Force (Telangana Police), which was led by the Chief Security Officer, AMD.

Subsequently, Director, AMD addressed the officials of the Directorate. The Director stressed upon the importance of this day, as it marks the beginning of India’s 75th year of Independence. He highlighted the year-long programmes envisaged for commemorating the event under the banner of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. Director, AMD, in his speech paid homage to the martyrs who laid down their life in the service of the nation. He paid rich tributes to the medical fraternity, sanitisation staff and the security personnel for their dedicated efforts during the pandemic time. Subsequently he enumerated the achievements of the Directorate since January, 2021, which included:

a) Satisfactory achievement of targets made in the principal exploration activities of the Directorate, in spite of the pandemic situation.
b) Various administrative measures taken to fill the vacant job positions, enhance the medical facilities to the serving and retired employees; and
c) Achievements of AMD in allied spheres of its activities.

After the address, Director, AMD greeted all the officials. The officials who attended the function included, among others Shri B. Saravanan, Additional Director (Op-I); Dr. T.S. Sunil Kumar, Additional Director (R&D); Heads of various Groups; Shri N. Anjani Kumar, CA&AO and Shri J. Sai Babu, JCF&A

After the glittering event, the Director, AMD along with the Additional Directors’, unveiled the “logo” designed by DAE for “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. This was followed by the unveiling of the logo in all the Regional Centres and two Sectional Offices.
