In line with the celebration of DAE’s Iconic Week for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, various programmes were organized on 22.08.2022 in AMD, Northern Region (NR), New Delhi. Students from 04 schools and 02 colleges of Delhi were invited for this programme. Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sector-8, Lal Bahadur Shastri Vidyalaya, RK Puram, Ramjas School, RK Puram and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Moti Bagh participated in this programme. Apart from this, the graduate level students of ARSD, Delhi Vishwavidyalaya, RLA College also participated in the programme. More than 100 students and teachers joined the celebration along with their teachers. On the arrival of the students, a welcome kit was provided to them, which included info-sheet of AMD, Indian flag badge, cap bearing logo of Azadi Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi and AMD and Pen with inscribed logo of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The first lecture on the occasion was delivered by Dr. Krishna Kumar Pandey, Regional Director, on ‘Atomic Energy, Eco friendly Clean Energy’. The second lecture was presented by Shri N.K. Johri on ‘Radioactivity and its related aspects’. In this sequence, the third lecture was presented by Dr. Neeru Rawal on ‘Nuclear energy as an essential option and DAE’s public interface’. A documentary film. on AMD was also screened. Thereafter, a science exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Krishna Kumar Pandey, Regional Director, AMD/NR. Officials from DSU, NR have also joined the exhibition rock specimens, radioactivity measuring instruments, drilling equipment and seismographs were also displayed in this science exhibition. All the participating students and teachers have shown great interest in this exhibition. The students and teachers also visited the Chemistry, Physics and Petrology laboratories. Further, a science quiz was organized in which 02 students from each college/school participated. The first, second and third prizes were given to the winning students by the Regional Director/NR.
