As part of nation-wide jubilations of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav marking India’s ascension into 76th year of Independence, AMD Southern Region enthusiastically celebrated Iconic Week on 23.08.2022. In addition to atomic minerals exploration activities, methods and techniques adopted by AMD, India’s major achievements in various scientific, technical and allied domains were showcased to 502 visiting guests (477 students and 25 faculty members) from 12 schools. The event was stream-lined so as to keep the visitors engaged with the theme of the event where the program-venue was compartmentalized into pavilions of India’s Scientific and Technological Achievements in 75 Years-Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, DAE, Geology, Geophysics, XRF, Petrology, Drilling, Physics and Chemistry. In order to make the event even more interactive, a separate pavilion for Quiz was arranged where visitors took part in rapid quizzing and were rewarded for their endeavour. Visitors were also ushered to the Rock-Garden where they were demonstrated various rock types and their significance.
