On August, 15, 2018, 72nd Independence Day was celebrated at AMD Headquarters and Regional Centers including field areas. On this occasion, Shri M. B. Verma, Director, AMD unfurled the National Flag at AMD, Hyderabad which was followed by the National Anthem. Shri Verma addressed the gathering of employees and their family members. In his address, Director, AMD highlighted the achievements of the Directorate and emphasized on collective responsibility along with devotion to the work. He also emphasized the need to preserve the honour and dignity of our national flag and to rededicate ourselves to build a strong and self-reliant India.
In his speech, Director informed that country’s uranium resource has now crossed the 3 lakh tonne landmark and has been updated to 3,00,034 tonnes uranium oxide by augmenting 29,398 tonnes U-oxide during the last year. He also stated that intensive exploration in CGGC, Siwalik, Cuddapah Basin, Bhima basin, Kaladgi Basin, Singhbhum Shear Zone, North Delhi Fold Belt, Satpura Gondwana basin, Siwana Ring Complex and Ambadongar carbonatite complex is likely to add more atomic mineral resources.
Director, took the opportunity to appreciate the commitment, hard work and co-operation from all the personnel from different exploration and analytical groups and sections in achieving the targets and outputs mandated on AMD.
As a part of the celebrations, a vibrant and colourful cultural event was organised by the AMD Recreation Club and members of the AMD Ladies’ Club, in which employees and their children participated actively. President of the AMD Ladies’ Club, Smt. Sunita Verma graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the cultural programme. Prize winners of various sport events and cultural activities received prizes for the achievements. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
